Approach

How we deliver, and how we assure quality

A five-stage delivery method, six professional values, and the quality assurance and ethics standards every assignment is held to.

Delivery method

Five stages

Not every assignment uses all five, but the sequence rarely changes. Where a client’s own process differs, we work within it.

Stage 01

Assess

Understand the context through stakeholder engagement and system diagnostics. Establish which decisions the work is meant to support, who takes them, and on what cycle.

Stage 02

Design

Develop evidence-informed strategies, systems or protocols, with the implementation and measurement layer specified rather than assumed.

Stage 03

Implement

Deliver through embedded technical assistance, coaching and hands-on configuration, not recommendation alone.

Stage 04

Measure

Track progress through defined indicators, dashboards and evaluation, with honest reporting of what the evidence does and does not support.

Stage 05

Improve

Learning, policy dialogue and continuous quality improvement, with documentation and training handed over so the work continues after the engagement closes.

Professional values

What guides the work

Six values, and what each one means in practice.

Integrity

Independent, transparent advice grounded in evidence, with limitations and uncertainties communicated clearly.

Scientific rigour

Robust methods, high-quality data and internationally recognised standards underpin every assignment.

Partnership

Working with governments, institutions, communities and partners to develop solutions that are relevant, practical and locally owned.

Pragmatism

Translating evidence and technical expertise into solutions that are feasible, proportionate and adapted to real-world contexts.

Accountability

Clear objectives, measurable results and transparent reporting that support informed decisions and responsible use of resources.

Sustainable impact

Strengthening systems, capabilities and institutional knowledge, grounded in local realities and shaped by what works, so that improvements continue beyond the assignment.

Quality & ethics

How we assure quality

The standards every assignment is held to, whatever its size.

Quality assurance

  • Written inception note agreed before substantive work begins
  • Named client counterpart with defined decision authority
  • Defined deliverables, dates and acceptance criteria in every contract
  • Independent technical peer review on analytical outputs
  • Data management plan for every assignment handling primary data
  • Ethics approval sought where research involves human participants
  • Documented handover and close-out at end of engagement

Ethics & data protection

Assignments involving research or primary data collection follow recognised ethical and scientific standards, including Good Clinical Practice where applicable. Studies involving human participants are subject to appropriate ethics review and relevant national or institutional regulatory approvals, including competent health authorities and other regulatory bodies as required by the study and country context.

Dr Diallo holds certifications in the Protection of Human Research Participants from the United States National Institutes of Health, Training and Resources in Research Ethics Evaluation, and Good Clinical Practice from the African Malaria Network Trust.

Personal and health data are managed in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including Swiss data protection law and, where relevant, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation, supported by an agreed data management and protection framework covering data collection, access, storage, transfer, confidentiality and secure handling.
